Punjab government will soon evolve a policy to find a solution to the lingering problems of partition of land and property cases of NRIs from the state.
The government's NRI department will come out with a policy framework in consultation with Revenue and Urban Development departments for expeditious solution to partition cases, especially of the NRIs, a spokesman said.
At least 80 per cent complaints of NRIs were regarding land disputes and as such a system needs to be evolved so that time bound justice could be provided to them, the spokesman said.
As NRIs have little time to settle their property disputes when they visit Punjab, the department will study all such aspects while drafting policy, the spokesman added.
