The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Iran Government's Technical and Vocational Training Organisation (TVTO) for collaboration in the field of skill development.
This agreement would facilitate and promote exchange of knowledge and experience in technical and vocational education and training among the two countries, the NSDC said in a statement.
Conduct of skill gap studies to identify potential jobs and skills required for them, NSDC assistance to Iran for setting up of sector skill councils and launching special projects are some of the areas in which the two entities would cooperate.

NSDC and its Sector Skills Council dealing with oil and gas may seek help from Iran through TVTO in developing occupational standards for the sector, the collaboration envisages.
Dilip Chenoy, MD and CEO of NSDC, welcomed the collaboration while Kourosh Parand, Iranian Deputy Minister who is also the President of TVTO, discussed skill partnership with the officials of the NSDC.
"NSDC appreciates the collaboration between Iran and India on skills initiatives and is confident that this partnership will play a crucial role in helping us achieve our goals that we have set for ourselves," Chenoy was quoted in the statement issued by the NSDC.
Speaking at the occasion, Kourosh Parand said, "Our partnership will be focused towards undertaking an innovative approach for addressing skills shortage in both the countries, and will have credible long term solutions for young people entering the workforce.
