In its effort to educate youngsters about financial markets and bridge the huge skill gap in the sector, National Stock Exchange (NSE) today tied up with Sri Sri University in Odisha to launch a Post Graduate course in Financial Markets.

The one-year PG Diploma in Financial Markets (PGDFM) course would start from 2015-16 session and classes would be held at Sri Sri University campus near here, Chief Business Development of NSE, Ravi Varanasi and University vice chancellor K C Mishra told reporters here.

"There is a huge skill deficit in India, but growth in the financial sector will throw up lakhs of jobs in the coming years," Varanasi said.

This course would equip students with comprehensive knowledge and skills required for a career in the financial markets, both Varanasi and Mishra said.

As a part of the programme, students would learn about Indian financial markets and NSE would provide its expertise on topics such as Capital Market Operations, Fundamental Analysis, Technical Analysis, Operation and Risk Management in Financial Markets, Options Trading Strategies Module and others, Mishra said.
