NTPC commissions 50 MW wind project in Rojmal, Gujarat

State-run power giant NTPC today said that the group's commercial power generation capacity rose to 50,908 MW after commissioning of its 50 MW wind project at Rojmal in Gujarat.

"Consequent upon successful commissioning, 50 MW (25 X 2 MW) Rojmal wind project at Rojmal, Gujarat is declared on commercial operation from November 10, 2017," NTPC Ltd said in a BSE filing today.

According to the statement, with this development, the commercial capacity of NTPC would become 43,692 MW and that of NTPC Group would become 50,908 MW.

NTPC intends to become a 130 GW company by 2032 with a with diversified fuel mix and a 600-billion units company in terms of generation. The company wants share of renewable energy (including hydro) to be 28 per cent.
