To achieve 100 per cent ash utilisation on sustainable basis at its coal-based plants, state-run power giant NTPC is organising a contest to invite ideas at pan-India level.
The objective of this competition is to find out innovative methods/ ideas which are commercially viable and practically implementable for achieving 100 per cent ash utilisation at NTPC in environmental-friendly manner, an official statement said.
According to statement the competition is open to Individuals/ Teams/ NGOs/ Professionals/ Researchers/ Scientists/ Institutes/ Organizations/ Business Schools/ Startups etc.
Interested contestants will have to make registration and there is no charges for participation. Winners will be awarded with 1st prize - Rs 5 lakh, 2nd prize - Rs 3 lakh, 3rd prize - Rs 2 lakh and Consolation prizes of Rs 1 lakh each for maximum two entries. The competition is open from December 1 to 24, 2018.

BHEL despatches 40th nuclear steam generator for NPCIL project *
State-run BHEL said Monday it has achieved a major milestone with the despatch of its 40th Nuclear Steam Generator to the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL).

The Steam Generator, to be installed in NPCIL's Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (RAPP), was flagged off Monday from the BHEL's Trichy plant in the presence of senior officials of BHEL and NPCIL. a company statement said.

APM Terminal Pipavav said Monday it has got rail connectivity through ICD Kanpur, established by CONCOR.
The maiden export train started from ICD (Inland Container Depot) Kanpur to Port Pipavav in November.
"APM Terminals Pipavav, one of India's leading multipurpose ports is now connected to ICD Kanpur via train. The new connection, established by CONCOR, gives customers an opportunity to connect to the Gateway Port of Pipavav," the company said in a statement.
APM Terminals Pipavav is one of India's gateway port for containers, Ro/Ro (passenger cars), Liquid Bulk and Dry Bulk cargoes serving customers in Gujarat with road and rail networks to India's hinterland and northwest.
