A 20-year-old nursing student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her room in the New Civil Hospital campus here today, police said.
"A second year nursing faculty student identified as Neetu Sankhwar (20) committed suicide today by hanging herself from a fan in her hostel room in the New Civil Hospital campus in Khatodara area in the city," Police Inspector G R Patel said.
According to a prime facie investigation, the victim took the extreme step due to work pressure imposed on her by some of her seniors, he said.
A suicide note found in her room stated that she took the extreme step on her own will since she was fed up with her life and her work, official said.
Police sent the body for postmortem and also initiated a probe into the matter, he said.
