New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and his wife Bronagh Key today visited Jama Masjid and Sis Ganj Gurudwara here to pay their obeisance.

The couple spent about 15 minutes in Jama Masjid, one of the largest in the country, and visited its various areas. They were given a shawl as a mark of respect by the mosque's administrators, officials said.

Later, they went to Sis Ganj Gurudwara and spent about half an hour there, they said.

The New Zealand Prime Minister also served food at the 'langar' (common dining facility) in the gurudwara, officials said.

Heavy security arrangements were made for the visits.

The New Zealand Prime Minister had been on a four-day visit to India from October 24-27.
