With price of diesel being cut, the Odisha government today further reduced bus fare by 2 paise per km in all the categories.

"The state government has announced reduction in bus fare by two paise per km as per recommendations made by the Technical Advisory Committee of the department," said Trasnport and Commerce Minister Ramesh Majhi.

The passengers, who used to pay 62 paise/km, will now have to pay 60 paise in ordinary buses and 63 instead of 65 in Express buses. Similarly, the fare in deluxe and deluxe A/C buses will be 83 paise and Rs 1.2 respectively instead of 85 paise and Rs 1.04 per km, Majhi said.

The state government had earlier reduced the bus fare by two paise in two phases following a fall in the diesel prices by Rs 9.17 in phases in the last two months.
