Odisha lawyers boycott courts

Lawyers of Odisha, including that of the state high court, here boycotted the court proceedings across the state today to decry the recent police attack on lawyers in Jaipur and Chandigarh.

Besides the lawyers of the high court, advocates of all lower courts in Cuttack city stayed off their respective courts on the day.

Reports reaching here said the lawyers of Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Berhampur, Balasore and other major bars of the state also joined the nation-wide strike called by the Bar Council of India.
