Offence booked against edu institute for misappropriation

Nashik police have registered offences against a city-based educational institute and 28 persons for allegedly misappropriating Rs 23 crore by preparing fake documents.

The Sarkarwada police here registered offences against Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj (MVPS) and its 28 employees, including some of its former top officials, last evening for allegedly misappropriating Rs 23 crore by preparing fake documents from 2009 to 2012 during their tenure, a press release issued by police stated today.

One Ashok Yashwantrao More (56), a resident of Tidke colony and a member of MVPS, here lodged a complaint with police regarding misappropriation of the amount yesterday, following which offences under relevant IPC sections, including cheating and criminal breach of trust, were registered.
 

No arrest has been made so far, the release added.
