Official arrested for taking bribe

Police said deputy director of supply department, Nalbari, Pradip Brahma was picked up today.

Seven hawkers engaged in illegal sale of kerosene had been arrested yesterday. They had alleged before the police that they had given Rs 13,000 to Brahma as bribe for allowing them to ply their business.
