Ola, mobile aap for cab booking, has extended a facility in its application for booking black-yellow taxis in the city.
"With over 2,000 black-yellow across south Mumbai already registered on the Ola platform, customers can now book a local taxi with the help of this app which they can easily download on mobile phones," Olacabs Director, Marketing Communications, Anand Subramanian told reporters here today.
He said the taxi drivers have been given smartphones free of cost that will help them accept booking requests and navigate to the customer's doorstep.
"Over the next 12 months, we plan to make this option available across the city. We also plan to bring over 20,000 taxis on our mobile platform by this year-end," he said.
"The taxis will be available to commuters at the meter rates. Customers will use the app only as a booking interface and shall settle the fare as usual with the driver.
