'Old age homes for cows should be run'

Pressing for protection of cows, head of Shreenathji Dham Goshala Hare Krishna Das today said like old age homes for humans, similar facility should be run for cows as well.

Addressing a gathering here, Das appealed to people to protect cows and said there is a need for setting up facility for aged cows.

He said old cows who are in need of care and medication, can be treated well at such homes.

Das also welcomed Maharashtra government's move to extend ban on cow slaughter to bulls and bullocks.

"Cow homes will protect aged cows and could be saved from getting into abattoirs," he added.
