Omar was interacting with students of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University here. He inaugurated various facilities in the university.
"Our government's focus is on qualitative human resource that would lead in all fields of science and technology," Omar said.
Accessibility to higher and technical education is now within the possible reach of every student intending to peruse higher goals in different fields of modern studies, said the chief minister.
Various universities and their campuses functioning across the state are becoming hub of higher education, he said.
"Our aim is to further strengthen their status by providing all help from the government side," Omar said adding that qualified faculties and appropriate laboratories and latest study material play vital role in delivery of higher education.
The chief minister inaugurated faculty residential accommodation involving estimated cost of Rs 50 lakhs.
He laid foundations of Rs 1.06 crore health centre, Rs 3 crore Laboratory Block, Rs 1.53 crore workshop, Rs 3.21 crore boys hostel, Rs 36.50 lakhs students amenities centre and Rs 3 crore academic block for arts and social science.
