One arrested with AK-47, pistol, and live cartridges

One person was today arrested with an AK-47 rifle and a 9 mm pistol along with 24 live cartridges in Rajasthan's Sriganganagar district, police said.

The accused, identified as Balwant Singh, aged around 40 years, was stopped and searched by a police team on Rozdi road under Rawla police station area, following a tip off.

He was carrying the weapons and cartridges in a plastic bag which were recovered and seized, police said.

Balwant is a resident of Rawla Mandi in the district.

He is being interrogated to ascertain the source of the weapons and to whom they were to be delivered, police said.
