One dead, 7 of family injured as house collapses after blast

One person was killed and seven others injured today when a house collapsed following an explosion at Ladpura village, about 80 km from Tikamgarh district headquarters in Madhya Pradesh.

The cause of the explosion was yet to be ascertained, police said.

Superintendent of Police Kumar Pratik said Natthu Kushwaha (45), a farmer, died on the spot. His seven family members, including three women, have been hospitalised.

"One of them, Ramdevi (20), is serious and admitted in a hospital at Gwalior while others were admitted in a Jhansi hospital," the SP said.

"A forensic team has reached the spot and after their report the cause of explosion would be known. The statements of the family members are yet to be recorded," he added.
