One held for cloning ATM cards

Haryana Police today arrested the mastermind of a gang allegedly involved in cloning ATM cards to withdraw the money using fraudulent means.

The accused, arrested from Palwal, had last month withdrawn Rs 40,000 by cloning an ATM card, a police department spokesman said here today.

The police recovered Rs 16,000 from Yasir Hameed, the accused, who is resident of a village in Palwal district.

The spokesman said police would arrest the other accomplices of Yasir who have been identified as Waris and Sajid, residents of Ghaghot village in the same district.

Yasir was produced before a Palwal court today and sent to one-day police remand.
