One held with illegal arms, ammunition in Haryana

The special task force (STF) of Haryana Police today arrested one person and recovered illegal weapons from his possession, during a raid in Gurgaon district.

An official spokesman here said that the accused identified as Sudarshan, a resident of Naharpur Rupa, Gurgaon, was nabbed by STF, following an information received in October, 2015 that four men suspected of involvement in a case of dacoity could be found at the house of the accused Sudarshan.

According to the information, Krishan of Jind district, Vijay Pal of Kaithal district, Tanbir of Uttar Pradesh and Sonu of Narwana, who had allegedly looted Rs 35 lakh from a poultry farm on Narwana Road in Jind district, were in possession of a large quantity of illegal weapons.
 

Meanwhile, when the task force raided the house of Sudarshan, he and his accomplices started firing indiscriminately at the team.

However, during the shootout, the team nabbed Sudarshan, while other accused fled the spot.

Investigations revealed that Sudarshan, who was wanted by police in atleast six other cases, including murder and attempt to murder, the spokesman added.

The accused further disclosed that his accomplices were planning to murder the younger brother of a member of their rival gang.

Three illegal weapons, including a 9 mm pistol, 32-bore revolver and 315-bore revolver and 33 live cartridges, were recovered from his possession.

A manhunt was on to nab the other accused, the spokesman said.
