One person was killed and 15 others were seriously injured when a tractor carrying picnickers fell into a gorge in Kalahandi district today, police said.
The tractor carrying around 40 people, including women and children from Dasigaon village for a picnic, turned turtle after losing balance at a curve at Singarighat and fell into a gorge, they said.
While a man, identified as Hemanta Majhi (26) of Dasigaon village, died in the mishap, at least 15 others sustained serious injuries, the police said.
People from nearby Kalampur rescued the injured persons and shifted them to hospital.
