One poacher was arrested after exchange of fire between Forest guards and poachers at Gorumara National Park in Jalpaiguri district today, a Forest official said.
Additional District Forest Officer (ADFO) Raju Sarkar the Forest guards of Gorumara National Park noticed some poachers in the Park.
The guards told the poachers to surrender but they fired at them forcing them to return the fire, he said.
One of the poachers was arrested while the others managed to flee, he said.
