Opposition parties today hit out at Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh saying its claims of development were a "bundle of lies" as it had failed on all fronts, including law and order.
Responding to SP MLA Anup Sanda's vote of thanks motion to Governor's address in the state Assembly, leader of the Opposition BSP's Swami Prasad Maurya said the claims of government's achievements and developments were a bundle of lies and raised issues of worsening law and order in the state.
Alleging that in less than two years of SP rule, 115 riots had taken place, including 15 major ones, Maurya said neither Hindus nor Muslims wanted it, but there were "some people" who pit them against each other for their "political motives".

Asserting that SP boat has started to rock and would sink in the coming Lok Sabha elections, he said crime has increased as action was not being taken against those named in FIRs.
Maurya, without taking the name of SP chief Mulayam Singh, said that there were other ways to become prime minister than by resorting to riots.
Asking as to how industrial development would take place when law and order was bad, Maurya warned that SP would regret not taking action against goondas and mafia.
The Opposition leader also raised an objection to Mulayam's picture on the free laptops distributed to students, saying it amounted to publicity through government exchequer.
BJP's Hukum Singh made light the claims of government, saying about 3,500 victims in Muzaffarnagar were still living in relief camps while cases of murder and rape were framed against 4,000 innocents subjecting them to trouble.
This, he said, was an achievement of the government.
"It is also an achievement of the government that, at least on three occasions, SP chief (Mulayam) has objected to the functioning of this government," Singh said.
Congress' Pradip Mathur, terming the government as a failure on all fronts, said, "CM Akhilesh Yadav is educated and wanted to work, but there are so many power centres that he is unable to do anything.
