The rebel AIADMK faction led by former chief Minister O Panneerselvam today extended support to NDA nominee M Venkaiah Naidu for the Vice Presidential polls.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Panneerselvam and sought support, a statement from AIADMK (Puratchithalaivi Amma) said.
"Panneerselvam informed the prime minister that the AIADMK (Puratchithalaivi Amma) will support Naidu" in the August 5 election, it said.

The faction, which has 12 MPs, earlier supported NDA's Presidential nominee Ramnath Kovind.
The faction led by Chief Minister K Palaniswami also supported the NDA candidate for the President.
