Orders issued to attach properties of an arms trader in UP

The Lucknow district administration today issued orders to attach properties of a man arrested for illegal arms trade.

According to the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) the properties which would be attached are two plots in the state capital worth crores and a motorcycle.

In an official statement by UP Anti-Terror Squad, IG ATS Aseem Arun said, "In 2013, Khalid was arrested, and cases under IPC and Arms Act were registered against him. Subsequently Gangster Act was also slapped on him on October 30, 2013."

"On this (Gangster Act), DM Lucknow today ordered to attach property of Khalid, which he had amassed by illegal sale of arms," Arun said.
 

According to the ATS statement, Khalid was involved in illegal trade of arms from his shop National Gun House and used to sell arms to Naxals.

"Through illegal arms trade, Khalid amassed properties worth crores," the statement said.
