A six-year-old orphaned girl was allegedly raped by a 24-year-old man here, police said today.
The incident happened last evening.
The girl, a Class II student, was staying with her grand mother.
The accused has been arrested.
The man Kutty alias Kumar has been remanded to judicial custody and lodged in the central prison here, police said, adding, a case was registered against him under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
