One packet of contraband suspected to be heroin, apparently smuggled from Pakistan, was found by Border Security Force personnel today in the area under the Border Out Post M P, Ferozepur Sector.
With this seizure, the BSF has so far seized 65.561 kg of heroin in this year.
"During special search operation carried out by BSF troops between Border Security Fence and International Border, a packet of contraband suspected to be heroin (about 1 Kg) was recovered from fields ahead of the Fence," a BSF official said.
The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers and anti-national elements to smuggle contraband items into India, the official said.
