Pak legislator, son shot and killed in Karachi

A MQM legislator and his son were shot and killed by unidentified gunmen outside a mosque here today, police said.
Two gunmen, who were on a motorcycle, opened fire at Sajid Qureshi and his son when they emerged from a mosque in North Nazimabad area after Friday prayers.
Qureshi, a legislator of the Muttahida Quami Movement party, was killed instantly while his son succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.

Business activities came to a standstill in the area after the killings and shops and offices were closed.
Qureshi was recently elected a member of the Sindh Assembly.
No group claimed responsibility for the killings.
