Press Trust of India Islamabad
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today said his government will encourage youth from less developed parts of Pakistan like Balochistan and PoK to gain employment.

Sharif chaired a meeting to review the Prime Minister's Youth Programme and was briefed about all features of the project.

The meeting was informed that so far around half a million suggestions have been received from the public, of which practicable suggestions have been included in the programme.

The Youth Programme comprises six schemes, including micro interest-free loans, small business loans, provision of laptops and reimbursement of fees for students of less developed areas.

Sharif directed that 50 per cent loans should be reserved for women in the micro interest-free loans scheme and the procedure for giving loans should be made simple.

Moreover, he directed that youth from less developed areas, including Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir be given priority in these schemes.

The premier was apprised that initially 250,000 youth would be provided loans and 100,000 laptops would be given under the scheme after its launch in January 2014.
