Pakistani security official killed by Afghan firing

A Pakistani security official was allegedly killed by firing from Afghanistan in the restive border tribal region of Bajaur, the military here said today.

It was unclear whether the firing came from Afghan forces or from Pakistani or Afghan militants hiding across the mountainous border region.

"In Bajaur, at 1145 hrs a security forces person embraced shahadat due to fire from across the border," a brief statement by the military here said.
