Panchayat polls: DPRO suspended for 'negligence of duty'

The District Panchayat Raj Officer (DPRO) of Shamli district has been placed under suspensionby the state governmentfor alleged negligence in dutywhen he was found absent in Panchayat polls.

The state government has suspended DPRO Mahender Kumaron the report of the district authorities when he was found absent during election work in Shamli district yesterday, District Magistrate O P Verma told reporters here today.
