Panel informed about schemes for SC students

A meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment was held here today.

A press release said members were informed about the steps taken by the Ministry regarding scholarship schemes for SC students, free coaching for SC and OBC students and National Overseas Scholarship.

Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot, who chaired the meeting said the objectives of the schemes were to promote qualitative education and provide financial assistance to selected students for pursuing higher studies abroad in specified fields of study.
