Panic in Jammu jail after cop's gun fires accidentally

Panic gripped inmates and staff of a jail here when the service pistol of an Inspector went off accidentally in the prison premises today.

Two rounds were fired "accidentally" from the service pistol of Inspector Arjun Singh Chib who had gone to district jail at Ambphalla to take some detenues to the court, police said.

The bullets hit a wall and no one was injured in the incident, they said, adding the matter was being probed.
