A 40-year-old paramilitary personnel was shot dead by unknown attackers in Jalalpur village under Bilgram Police Station area here, police said today.
Jai Prakash, who was posted as Head CP in 76th Battalion of BSF at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, had come here on leave on December 17. He was sleeping in his house when unidentified assailants shot him dead last night.
A country made weapon and an empty cartridge was found from the spot, police said, adding that on the complaint of the brother of the deceased, a case has been lodged and probe has been launched into it.
