Parts of Sangli district receive rains after long dry spell

As parts of Maharashtra reel under drought-like conditions, a few talukas in this district today received showers for the first time in almost 40 to 45 days, bringing cheers among residents and farmers.

Jat, Khanapur and Atpadi talukas of the western Maharashtra district got rains after almost 40 to 45 days.

Jat received 24.5 mm rain in the last 24 hours, the weather office said. The Sangli city also experienced good showers after a long dry spell.
