Party above in individuals: Modi

Invoking the legends of erstwhile Jansangh, the precursor to BJP, Narendra Modi today said none of them was above the party which, he said, was supreme.

Dedicating the victory in general elections to the sacrifice of five decades of Jansangh and BJP workers, he told party MPs that ther are here because of the organisation.

"None of us can be above the organisation or the party. The party is supreme," he said in his acceptance address at the Central Hall of Parliament after his election as leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party.
