Passenger killed as van hits head protruding from bus window

A 30-year-old passenger, who dozed off with his head protruding from the window of a bus, was today killed when a speeding van scraped against it while overtaking the vehicle near here, police said.

Murugesan died on the spot after his head was crushed by the van at Poyarkottai in neighbouring Krishnagiri District, they said.

A search was on for the van driver, who fled the scene.
