Passengers of a Mathura-bound rail bus reportedly pushed the two-coach train for a couple of kilometres after it developed technical snag near Uttar Pradesh's Masani station here.

The train's engine was hit by a technical problem when it stopped near Masani after which the passengers started pushing the rail in an effort to kickstart the engine.

The passengers managed to drag the train for over two kilometeres.

"It is true that the rail bus engine failed near Masani station and it is not in operation since then," said PRO Divisonal Railway Manager office, Agra, Bhupender Dhillon.

"As for the allegations that the bus was pushed by the passengers, an enquiry would be conducted to find out the truth as we have no such complaint," he said.

Failure of machinery is always possible in spite of best mechanical care, she added.
