The top brass of Patna district administration today wielded broom in their hands as citizens looked on.
District Magistrate Abhay Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Jitendra Rana and Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation Jay Singh launched cleanness drive in the Maurya Lok premises.
The SSP Rana said the effort was to inspire citizens to keep the city clean and ward off diseases.
He said administration along with citizens could keep the city clean and free of dirt.
Patna Municipal Corporation Commissioner Jay Singh appealed to shopkeepers in the posh Maurya Lok not to throw refuse here and there and cooperate with the administration in maintaining cleanness.
He said efforts are on to launch a door-to-door pick up of garbage from homes in the capital town.
