Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister D Umamaheswara Rao today said Pattiseema project in East Godavari district will be completed within one year.
Rao said 55 TMC of Godavari water has been successfully lifted from one basin to another.
The project will benefit Pithapuram, Tuni, Peddapuram, Jaggampeta, Prathipadu in the district, he said, adding water will be provided to two lakh acres of land under Yeleru project.
"Around 3000 TMC of Godvari water goes waste into sea. If you utilise this water, it will help to provide 150 to 170 TMC of water to farmers to cultivate their lands," the minister said.
