PCC celebrates Sonia Gandhi's birthday

Ruling Congress in the union territory today celebrated the 70th birth day of party chief Sonia Gandhi.

At a function held in the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee, PCC President and PWD Minister A Namassivayam presided over the celebrations and distributed sweets to the workers and functionaries of the party.

MLAs, freedom fighters and leaders of the different wings of the party were among those who were present.

A team of Congress volunteers later pulled the golden chariot on the precincts of the famous shrine of Manakula Vinayakar here.

Prayers were also held at churches and mosques on the occasion.
