The PDP today hit out at J-K government on the issue of corruption and announced state-wide protests on the issue on Saturday.
"It has been decided to hold protests against state government at all district headquarters on January 18 to expose corruption and mis-governance," vice president of PDP Trilok Singh Bajwa said at a meeting of workers here.
Bajwa, accompanied by party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, claimed that Jammu and Kashmir has plunged into an unprecedented crisis.
"The state government has failed to provide basic amenities like power and ration to the people," he said and alleged that the government has failed to proceed against corrupt officials.
Institutions like State Accountability Commission (SAC) have been weakened while powers of the State Information Commission have been diluted, he claimed.
The youth of the state are the worst victim of the policies being propagated by this government, he said.
The new recruitment policy announced by the government is lopsided. Daily wagers, contractual and casual employees are struggling to get wages, he said.
