Goa Archbishop Father Filipe Nery Ferrao has said that it is becoming more and more necessary to build peace in today's "troubled world".
In his new year message, the Archbishop says,"In today's troubled world it is becoming more and more necessary to build peace together, peace that can find satisfactory solutions to the problems of our day, founded on the dignity of the human person and on the integral development of the society".
"Peace and well-being are yearnings planted by God in the heart of every person, regardless of his or her religious or cultural background," he said.
"May the Lord inspire and help us all to join hands and commit ourselves to tireless peace-making and to the defence of human dignity and basic human rights," the Father said in the message.
