A Samohik Shardhanjali Sabha was organised today in the Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram at Muthi-II in Jammu to observe the 22nd Balidan Divas of the Kashmiri Poet and his son Verinder, who were killed by terrorists in 1990 in Kashmir.
The late Premi was also a well known freedom-fighter and famous scholar, the minister said.
Recalling his association with the late poet, Sayed said he was a student-friend of Premi and was highly influenced by the teachings of his teacher and guide.
The Minister praised the multi-dimensional personality of the poet as a Gandhian, an ace academician, author and writer.
He further said that Premi had dedicated his life to the welfare of the common people, irrespective of caste, creed or religion. PTI AB DK
