A petition seeking permanent disqualification of cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan from Parliament has been dismissed by a Pakistani high court.

The Lahore High Court yesterday objected to the maintainability of the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Inqilab's head Ilamuddin Ghazi.

The petitioner stated that a member of the parliament should be righteous person under the provisions of the Constitution.

Quoting a book, the petitioner said the past of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief was an open secret for all.

He asked the court to invoke Article 62 of the Constitution and disqualify Khan permanently.

Justice Mahmood Maqbool Bajwa dismissed the petition observing the petitioner did not provide any document to support his arguments.
