A case was today registered against unknown persons in connection with the group clash that occurred here over a land dispute, police said.
Acting on a complaint by Dera Udaseen Head Varinder Das and his nephew Gurpreet Singh Kali that a group of people had yesterday attacked and opened fire in the Dera premises in attempt to take possession of their land, police said.
On the basis of their complaint, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the Arms act, Phagwara Superintendent of Police Ashwani Kumar said.

Police are now examining the CCTV footage installed at the Dera to identify the accused persons, the SP said.
Tension had yesterday gripped Phagwara city after members of the Dera and one other group clashed, with both claiming that a piece of land, located at Bansawala Bazaar, belonged to them.
Six rounds of fire were shot from both the sides in which two women sustained injuries, police said, adding that situation was now under control.
Further probe is underway, police said.
