Cold conditions intensified in Odisha Friday with the temperature plummeting to 7 degree Celsius in Phulbani, making it the coldest place in the state.
Similarly, the tourist destination of Daringbadi, also in Kandhamal district, recorded further dip in temperature to 8.5 degree Celsius from 9 degree Celsius measured on Thursday, the Meteorological Centre here said.
The state capital of Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degree Celsius, while in Cuttack the minimum temperature was 12.4 degree Celsius
The mercury dropped to 10 degree Celsius in Angul, while it was 10.4 degree in Keonjhar, 11 degree in Bhawanipatna, 11.2 degree in Sambalpur, 12.1 in Balasore and 12.6 degree Celsius in Koraput, it said
While the temperature has already started falling in many places, it is likely to drop further in different parts of the state, said Director of the Meteorological Centre here, H R Biswas.
The temperature is likely to remain 2 to 3 degrees below normal in most parts of the state over the next few days, he said.
