Planting of seedling of flowers, including exotic flowers from different countries, meant for the Annual Flower Show, scheduled in May, began at the Government Botanical Gardens here, today.
District Collector P Shankar initiated the process of planting of 185 varieties of seedlings, which include Bellis, Doronicum, Libelia, Alchimilla, imported from Holland, Germany, United Kingdom, USA and Spain.
There would be 3.5 lakh flowers of all the varieties, including those available in India, like Rose, Coronation, Chresanthumum, at the beginning of the show, usually organised in the second week of May, Mani, Joint Director, Horticulture Department, said.
About 50,000 seedlings were planted in the gardens today, he added.
