Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated Leander Paes for winning Australian Open mixed-doubles, saying that the tennis star continues to make India proud.

"Leander Paes continues to make us proud! I congratulate him on the Mixed Doubles win with Martina Hingis at the Australian Open," Modi tweeted.

Paes clinched his 15th Grand Slam when he won the Australian open mixed-doubles along with Swiss ace Martina Hingis in Melbourne this morning.

41-year-old Paes clinched his seventh mixed doubles crown, while Hingis, who came out of retirement for the second time a couple of years back, collected her 11th doubles Slam apart from her five singles titles.
