PM Sharif consults Fazlur Rehman on talks with militants

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today held consultations with JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman over holding talks with militants and the possible inclusion of his party in Pakistan's federal cabinet.
The head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam called on Sharif at Noor Khan airbase in Rawalpindi before the premier's departure for UK. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Information Minister Pervez Rashid were present at the meeting.
During the meet, Sharif and Khan briefed Rehman regarding progress in negotiations with militant groups. Discussions were also held on the JUI's possible in the cabinet, the Dawn newspaper quoted its sources as saying.
Rehman said anti-Pakistan elements would try to sabotage the dialogue but the government should foil their designs. He called on the political leadership to cooperate with the government to make the dialogue a success.
