There is a need for more interactions among the poets of Nepal and India to strengthen the cultural ties between the two nations, an Indian writer said here today.

"There should be more interactions between the poets of the two countries and they should also visit each other's country frequently to strengthen bilateral relations," said Bibhu Padhi.

He was interacting during the 15th edition of 'Poemandu', a joint initiative of the Indian Embassy here and BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation.

The 63-year-old poet also asked the old poets to vacate their seats for the new ones.

"I think over the past three years proliferation of new poets have taken place in India and the old poets should give up seats to the new poets", he said.
