Police arrest youth for passing lewd remarks

A youth was today beaten up and arrested for allegedly passing lewd comments on a 22-year-old girl, police said here.

The girl was on her way to a nearby place from her house when the accused, identified as Nadeem, passed comments on her near Surajpole gate, Galta Gate police station Sub-Inspector Jagdish Rai said.

Hearing the cries of the girl, some persons present nearby caught and thrashed him before handing him over to the police, he said.
